Nutrients play a vital role in our day to day life for fulfilling the essential needs of our body. Nutrients are important for the smooth working of the body as it provides energy to the body to work and live. These are needed for living a long healthy life.

Nutrients:-

These are the substances which are required by any living being in order to grow, survive and reproduce. Nutrients are available on things we eat and consume on our daily basis which are the basic part of our diet.

Nutrients are available on earth and can be found on every living thing on earth. One can fulfill their needs for nutrients from plants, animals and all other organisms.

Nutrients are needed by every living being surviving on earth in order to live and survive on Earth.

Types of Nutrients:-

  • Vitamins: There are various types of vitamins available and each vitamin has different properties which are beneficial in different ways for our body. Vitamins are required in the body for managing the body to do a lot of normal functions. There are thirteen essential vitamins available and these are as follows:-

  • Vitamin D

  • Minerals: Minerals are important nutrients which have been needed for the function of the body and development of the body. These are essential elements such as calcium, iron, zinc, potassium, magnesium, iodine, fluoride, molybdenum, manganese, phosphorus, chromium and so on.
  • Carbohydrates: Carbohydrates play a key role in providing energy to the body and are responsible for keeping us energetic as carbohydrates are responsible for breaking down in the body in the form of glucose and it is one of the sources which provides energy to the cells, tissues and other body parts. Potatoes, bananas and so on are good sources of carbohydrates.
  • Fibers: It is a type of Carbohydrate only but this is something which the body cannot digest and therefore it breaks down into sugar molecules to form glucose but these are those sugar molecules which body cannot digest and eventually it gives energy and passes out from the body. Cucumber is a good source of fiber.
  • Proteins: It is responsible for providing the oxygen to the body through various enzymes. It is very important for the body to develop and grow and it is needed by every organ of the body. Pulses and eggs are a high source of proteins.
  • Dietary Fiber: It is a whole grain of fruits and cereals and it is an undigested carbohydrate found in plants and other living beings. It is used to maintain a healthy digestive system.

Water: Water is a chemical compound which is one of the most important and most necessity nutrients our body needs to live and survive.
