yes, it is very easy that we can add a class in li tag from the admin panel of wordpress.
without using the jQuery. Wordpress allows us to add a class from its menu admin.
Login to your Woedpress menu
Go to Appearance ---> Menus
Click screen options. now click on checkboox Css classes. make it checked like below screenshot:
now go to memu item and add your class

Save your menu.
